Edna Correia
I am a biologist interested in animal ecology and biodiversity conservation.
My research has been focused on the trophic ecology of bird communities, as a key to understand the ecosystems functioning, mostly in coastal areas in Europe and West Africa.
I have been dedicated to investigate the diet and foraging behaviour of birds, by using a variety of methods including DNA metabarcoding (dietary analysis) and tracking birds’ movements with GPS devices (behavioural studies). I have also been studying migratory ecology of birds as well as connectivity of aquatic birds between natural and artificial habitats.
